Ensembles
Southwestern Randolph High School has a building tradition of successful choral ensembles. Whether you are interested in exploring chorus for the first time or are a seasoned choral veteran, there is an ensemble here for you.
Beginning Mixed Chorus
Beginning Ensemble is an entry-level class introducing students to the art of choral singing. The class is non-auditioned; an interest in music and willingness to participate is all that is asked for. Students can expect to develop a basic understanding of music theory and music reading skills. They will also be exposed to varying genres in their repertoire. The class is semester-long and the students will perform in two school concerts each semester.
Men's Ensemble
Men's Ensemble is an intermediate-level, all-male vocal ensemble continuing students' education of choral singing. Students can expect to develop a more in-depth understanding of music theory and music reading skills. They will be exposed to varying genres in their repertoire. The class is semester-long and the students will perform in at least two school concerts each year, with the possibility of extra-curricular performance opportunities.
Women's Ensemble
Women's Ensemble is an intermediate-level, all-female vocal ensemble continuing students' education of choral singing. Students can expect to develop a more in-depth understanding of music theory and music reading skills. They will be exposed to varying genres in their repertoire. The class is semester-long and the students will perform in at least two school concerts each year, with the possibility of extra-curricular performance opportunities.
Honors Choral Ensemble
Honors Choral Ensemble is an advanced, co-ed vocal ensemble continuing students' education of choral singing. The class is auditioned; the requirements for auditions can be found on the audition tab. Students can expect to maintain an in-depth understanding of music theory and music reading skills and consistently apply them to music reading. They will be exposed to varying genres in their repertoire. The class is year-long and the students will perform in at least four school concerts each year, with definite, TBA extra-curricular performance opportunities.
